Well I finally got myself in to see te club pro after little improvement over the last six months, why i didn't do before I've no idea! Well it's worse than I thought! Alignment well off to the right, swing plane too flat and no divot. So most of the lesson spent getting swing plane more upright and taking a divot with each shot. Felt good at the end a few mishits but plenty of good penetrating flights which is what I was looking for. The swing plane threw me as the people at Nike told me I was too upright but maybe I had gone too far the other way. Not what I was expecting to hear but I'm now on my way to hopefully with more practice a better golfing future!

Definitely worth persisting with it - need to groove in the new swing to see the benefits I guess.

Feeling similarly bruised here also after a lesson last night - gonna hit the range tomorrow morning and comp round tomorrow so maybe will be on the beer drowning my sorrows tomorrow - time will tell.

What would people recommend on frequency of lessons? Thinking about 6 weeks pro says once a month? Cash a bit tight as just finished work but don't want to waste what he is teaching.

I usually try for once a month but stopped for 3 months due to work/winter, now having them approx every 3-5 weeks as I am trying to improve my driving/fairways. aslong as you practice the drills then you can go longer as it takes a few weeks to ingrain any changes.

go with what you can afford and practice inbetween, I also try and play a round every week and am seeing the benefits almost straight away. Its the simple things a lesson teaches for me that give me a better grasp of the swing, grip, ball striking and most importantly confidence!

good luck :)

Great thanks chaps, prob have another in 3-4 weeks see what's happening and take it from there, think I had better start looking down back of sofa etc to pay for more lessons! Start getting rid of all my junk on eBay!
