Just back from my first lesson with George Boswell up at Mearns Castle,it was ace! We worked on my grip, syncing my upper and lower body, and chipping. After my lesson I visited the short game practice area and in about 30 minutes worth of chipping I got 3 in the hole,3 goddammit! I cant believe my chipping is so improved in just one hour.I will be signing up for more asap! I really wish I had signed up for lessons sooner, you were all right, cheers forum. :D :D ;)

Good news Deke.

So, you'll be knocking the idea of a beginners forum meet on the head and coming straight in with the big boys now??? :D

Hell yes Del,my confidence is certainly improving. If all golf was played on par 3 courses less than 60 yards i would be a contender mate! I will be up for a round with yourself soon chief,Gifford looks nice, any 50 yard par 3s?

any 50 yard par 3s?

Strangely, for a nine hole layout, there are only three Par 3's if you play a full 18. The first is a mid-long iron shot of around 170 yards. The 5th is a 197 yard uphill hole, quite often into the wind and it plays around 150 yards as the 14th, as a few of the holes have alternate tee positions to keep things interesting.

Give me a shout when you're up for a round and we'll get something sorted.

Nice one fella. Glad you had a good session. There might he days when it seems like you've gone backwards but it will all be worth it in the long run.

Just cos you've started getting chip ins don't get any delusions that you're going to beat me to 18 :D

Cheers Tiger, the race is on mate! Mid-long irons still pretty shoddy at the mo,but my hybrid is now behaving.Cant wait to get another lesson, feel a bunch will have to be bought, next step sort out the mid irons! ;)

Cheers Homer,I have already spent a good hour tonight practicing drills.I will try to give them at least half an hour each day.Cant wait to play on Sunday now!
