Thanks to family commitments, HID, and a loft conversion, I now face my first competition at my new club!

There are 70 people taking part so I am expecting a slow round.

But, taking into account my previous posts, the Forums expert opinions and worldly advice, the GM articles, I shall approach the day relaxed, arriving in good time to practise and warm up, play each shot as it comes, expect and deal with the mistakes - after all we are not Pros - play to my handicap and not feel stressed at all.

Well, that's the plan...

any further words of encouragement or wisdom always welcomed...

Nick

Why would you be expecting a slow round with only 70 people taking part?
On a comp day at ours we regularly have upwards of 130 people attending and get round in under/over 4 hours depending on comp format.
Sounds like you`ve been beat already.

Don't forget to eat and drink something during the round, even if you don't feel thirsty or hungry. It will help to keep your energy level and concentration up over the 18 holes. Oh, and have fun :D

Nope not defeated already just trying to keep relaxed as normally I'm a bag of nervous tension at comps!

I intend to just enjoy myself.
