I wondered if any of our resident experts can offer me any advice to help in finding a Draw again please with my Driver.

For some reason, my Drives have become fade's, whereas I always used to find a Draw quite easily.
Occasionally, I'd fight the inevitable Hook, or a straight push, but very rarely fade.
Very occasionally, it appears, and I certainly have no trouble drawing it with my irons, but more often than not at the moment, its a fade.
I know its perhaps less damaging, or so they say, but I just want to find a consistent draw, as my own course certainly favours it.

My swing path is seemingly coming across the ball, with the clubface slightly open, so have you any tips to try and re-grooove the in-out path with a Driver ?

Thx

I'm not an expert.....BUT.....

I still revert to tried and tested methods on the range.
1) Stand square to the target, but aim the path on the downswing at a tree or flag well right.
2) Place a headcover outside the line behind the ball, I tried the metal basket once, until I chipped it 20 yards down the range!! (that hurts too!)
3) 3-ball drill
4) Plastic pipe or shaft (not your seven iron....I broke mine) outside the ball aimed 20 yards right..

ad nauseam.

by the sounds of things RGDave you have quite an experience testing things out LOL :D

Never ending mate.

My pro told me about a guy that was so fed up with his "start-left" swing, he tried a brick in the way. All went fine until he stopped for a cup of tea, set up again with his driver and broke his club and wrist in one go!!!

I like the "pipe" drill. I picked up (well, nicked actually) two lengths of cable piping (for computer leads/power cables) and place one along the line of my feet and the other outside the ball aiming plenty right. I do this until the push/draw comes back.....takes about 30 balls.

Doesn't seem to last on the course though.....

I swear even the basket went left to right......

I once read (might even have been in GM) about swinging with your headcover on your driver to warm up. I tried this one and almost got the headcover in the chipping net.....

I need help......

As per usual it's hard to say what's wrong unless you can post a swing.

Invariably a fade comes from trying to hit straighter shots and gradually creeping open with your alignment and body.

Off the top of my head I'd say a) Check your alignment, make sure you are square/slightly closed to the target, it's not unusual to creep a little open especially with the longer clubs. b) Check your grip, it may have weakened if you've been hitting fades and it's not unusual to set your hands wrong on the driver. c) make sure the clubface is pointing at the target, often people TRY to hit it out right and that's where they aim the clubface.

Alignment, Grip, Clubface.

As a drill - and this is going to sound wacky and make you look like a total imbecile at the range...try hooking them!
Get lined up 20yds right and really try banana-ing a few out right and getting them to hook, not straightish shots with a hook.. get them out to right. This will get your wrists used to releasing the club, get you swinging from the inside and get your weight transferring through the ball....don't concentrate on it too much..no real swing thoughts, this is a drill/warm up to get you firing properly. Afer 5 of them have a break...then step up and go for 2 draws checking your alignment and grip first of course...and repeat :)

hope this helps... it's always tricky to change a fade into a draw so don't beat yourself up about it. If you ask any pro at the range about it he would simply try to get you swinging from the inside.

Here's a vid... (which I posted on another thread)

Note just how far right he appears to be aiming...... that should look pretty scary if you've been hitting fades with your driver :D
