Finding golf gear on the course...

Lost my wedge on my own course! Noticed it was missing after a couple of holes, went back to the green I left on and some toe rag had stolen it!

it was in the evening and some people only play 9 holes and by the looks of it picked it up and went home after 9 ( I was on 11th when I needed it )

had no idea who was behind me but reported it to my club, unfortunately it was never handed in or seen again!

makes me a but sad as it would gave been a fellow member who has walked off with it, I. An accept they may have picked up with the intention to hand in at a later date but still waiting 7 months down the line :(

I was playing and found some very chunky gold rings on the second tee, we were waiting on most tees so when I arrived at the next one i asked them if they had lost something of value not golf related which they hadn't so asked them to pass it on. Anyway about 3 hrs later I saw this guy rushing down the fairway and asked if I was the one who had found something after I asked him to tell me what they looked like I handed them over he almost cried with joy and told me his wife would have killed him as one was his wedding ring, he did say he would leave me a drink at the bar but sadly never did.

If I take a wedge out of my bag and my putter I always place my wedge on the flagstick when it's laid on the ground. If someone holds the flagstick for the rest to putt out I always try and get someone to hold the wedge whilst I putt. It's worked so far!

If only the two ball playing behind me a few months ago had handed in my rangefinder which I left on the tee of a par three. It was never handed in and I never got it back in spite of the police visiting the couple who were playing behind me. A couple of weeks later I found a Sky Caddy by one of the greens. Asked a few groups on passing fairways " has anyone lost something" and one guy realised it was his. He hadn' t even missed it & may have gone home without it.

Out of curiosity was this at South Shields GC?

I would have gone into the bar and asked around to start off with, just Incase like someone else said they go home and do not realise it is missing. Then I would give it to the pro.

Problem is there are too many people that will take anything if it isn't nailed to the floor. I once dropped the cover off my brolly, but no one ever handed it in. It's not worth anything, but the bag looked so much better with the TM TP cover on the brolly. I always hand in anything I find on the course, well if it ProV1 wrote on it I may just keep it, because one day it might just be you that drops something expensive. I try and live my life like the TV program 'my name is Earl'. As he says on that, "do good things and good things happen, do bad things and bad things happen"

I found a range finder at our course, asked the couple in front and as they still had the cover it was obviously theirs. Put it in the case and moved on. The lack of appreciation stung a bit. How hard is it to say thanks? And considering how precious I am it still does my head in :mmm:

I was playing in a competition at Highwoods one week-end and stupidly left my almost new i15 7 iron next to a bunker after playing a shot and raking. I didn't realise until I got home, nipped back up the club (as I remembered where it had happened) but the club was not there.
Nipped into the pro shop to see if it had been handed in, Mike the pro said it hadn't but he would keep an eye open for it.
A couple of weeks went by, still no 7 iron handed in, so I then accepted the fact that it was gone forever.
I was just about to order a new one from Ping, when the phone went and it was Mike from the pro shop, to say that finally somebody had handed it in!
I went up to pick it up, and asked him who had kindly given it to him, and when he told me I contacted them to thank them and let them know that a bottle of wine was waiting for them in the pro shop as a "thank you".
They explained that they had found the club the same day, but had to nip off really quickly as he was flying out to America on holiday early the following morning hence the delay in handing the club in.
The guys wife (who I was speaking to) was rather annoyed with me for leaving the bottle of wine for them saying that I hadn't needed to have done that!

In a dark corner of our locker room is a basket full of old headcovers and non expensive items that have been found on the course. However, some of them are so shabby that the owners are probably not too bothered if they never see them again anyway.

I found a zip on cover from a 7 iron. I put it where it belonged......

Have left quite a few items on the course and had them returned, including the pipe twice, and have found the usual suspects as well for the Pro. to look after.

Last Friday found a dog collar (canine) hanging over a tee info. board but left it there.

Left a TM r7 pitching wedge somewhere, I have no idea which course or when so if anyone has spare one to sell please PM me.

ive found vokey wedges on the course 3 times, just hand into the pro shop each time. we do have a box in the changing room for lost property, its full!

ive lost the cover to my putter (SC) a couple of times and thats been handed in both times. Only thing i lost and didn't get back was a brand new GG waterproof hat:(

Genuinely found the keys to a Porche. Asked at the bar, someone said 'he's got a Porche' They were his... Didn't get a thankyou.

Couldn't believe it. Should have just took the car.

I just hand any golf equipment into the pro shop and anything like keys or phone to the office or bar and consider my part of deal has been done and would hope that if I misplaced anything someone else would do the decent thing
