Finally got my Handicap...

Well done mate,Glad you have something to celebrate!!!!

Knob

Just had a call from the handicap secretary to tell me it's official. He said 'we monitor new members just incase it's too low and needs to be reviewed for an increase'. UNDELAY! ARRIBA! ;)

Great starting point but now the hard work really begins. Just make sure your horse has plenty of water and hay to enjoy while you're on the course and try and tie him up somewhere shady! Is a sombrero allowed in the dress code?

Congrats.

I don't really think it matters too much if it's not what you wanted to start with, it will find its level.

Just nice to have an official one eh?

Good job,well done.
Got any idea what level you hope /would like to achieve?

Long term is anything under 10. Short term would be 15 or below by the end of the year.

I played to about 14 when I was younger, but never really applied myself or had the drive to become alot better.

Seems that single figures is the common goal.
A lot of us on here seem to have just got our h'caps sorted.
Be interesting to see how we progress over the near future.

Good luck with the target,Aztec, and ENJOY playing.
Something we can overlook.

This is something, I believe, held me back in earlier life. If I was having a nightmare, I'd get really angry and stressed out and my entire round would fall apart.

Now I either laugh it off or don't let it bother me. As an example, on Sunday, I was having a really solid round and got to our par 4 13th (admittedly, S.I.1) and took an 8. I followed the next 3 holes with Bogey, Par, Par.

Before I would have continued to double and triple bogey.

I still get aggreviated at missing simple birdie or par putts and duffing chips, but I don't dwell on them like I used to.
