Finally Broke 80

I came close a few times at the end of last year and again a couple of weeks ago with an 81.

But finally held it together today. And broke it in style.

Standing on the 18th tee knowing I've got 6 shots to get it it in the hole for a 79. And it's SI 18

Then just nailed one right down the middle. PW into the middle of the green. Easy 2 putt. Happy days. Jobs a good un.

I think the difference in this round was I was deadly from 100 yards and in. Every chip or pitch left me with a makable putt. I didn't sink any long putts whatsoever, but I just never missed inside 6 ft.

Out of interest the software you have uploading your game stats from todays round - What is it called please?

It's the software skycaddie uses. It's just uploads the round from my SGX when I sync it up.

I know they have an iPhone version as well. It's provided by OOBGolf, who also have there own site where you can input you're scores and get all sorts of useful stats.

I know they have iPhone and Android appps so you can record you're scores as you play the upload them.

Thanks. Yep that was it really. Since I worked out all my wedge distances over the winter it just means I'm dropping them around the pins more often.

Really makes a huge difference knowing it's a 3/4 56 degree instead of I think it's one of those and I'll hit it about that hard

Well played. I had a horror run from 4-8 (and 18th) which killed my round and then played 10-17 really well in a couple under my handicap. If I could stop making stupid unforced errors then there is a low one in there. Great shooting though and I can't see why you can't get down much lower this season
