Sorry for another 'all about me' thread!

Today i shot 98 on my local par 73 course, made all the more remarkable given i carded a 9 on the 6th when i found water twice!!

My previous best was 102, but usually averaged around 108. Going off my averages since i started last July, i guess i would've been allotted a h'cap of 28, in which case my stableford score would of been 39 for today (if added up correctly!)

I'm itching to go back out tomorrow as i know i left so many shots out there, but i know that two rounds are seldom alike and i probably shoot another 105+ next time.

:whoo: well played big D, you did well to hold it together after the calamity hole.
Ease that and 90 won't be far away! Onwards and downwards. Well played!

I no longer kick my trolley over and punch a women holding a new born baby when I card badly on the first...

I shot an 87 the other day (good for me) with an 8 and a 7. The 8 was on the 1st and normally would mean my head dropped!

Definitely a lesson for me that its worth ignoring it and sticking at it.

Many thanks for all your kind words!

Well done buddy, I hope to break 100 soon, got close a few times.

Where did you play seeing as you live in Darlo?

Played at Hallgarth today

My thoughts exactly!

Im sat in my office now and can recall all the poor shots, and how to rectify them next round.

Biggest problem will be, i wont be able to produce all the good shots from today again!

Congrats on a milestone passed, its only natural to think about 95 or even 90 but try not to think about the score too much, just go about your business and when you tot it up you might be pleasantly surprised! Rock on.

+1. I sometimes have a tot up after 9 holes, but usually leave it to the end. Usually, I can sense what I shot....today I thought 100-ish and it was 103.

I did what the OP warned against: shot my best ever round yesterday (96) and went straight out again today. Froze my nadgers off and carded 7 worse!! Still enjoyed it and learned a few more things.

Well done again, to the OP.........I'm just reading 'How to break 90' (wishful thing for me, ATM!!).

Well done. Beware the golfing gods getting their revenge next time but no reason why 95 and even 90 arent doable with a bit of better course management

Par 5 6th, Dog Leg to the right with a river running all the way down the RH side.

Tee shot ended up in the river, 3rd off the tee landed middle of fairway, I usually play around the dogleg keeping the ball in play (& dry!)

But seeing as it was my 4th shot i thought what the heck, go over the river and land just short of the green...
thats what played out in my head, instead i topped it straight into the hazard again.

From the resulting drop, i played to go around the dog leg, but ended up in a fairway bunker, my 7th got me to the edge of the green. I decided to putt from the fringe and my 9th was a 7ft'er which almost did a 360 and came out.

now..course management? anyone wanna give me some hints lol!

Well done mate, thought you had it in you after Friday where you hadn't played in over a month and still did well. A massive milestone.

My irons are getting better, no woods in the bag today for me. I missed pars on the 3rd and 7th by a whisker this afternoon too. Think I did 9 in a shade over 60 but should have been 55 at a canter, some needless mistakes.

Cheers mate, been away with work for a couple of days to come home to snow again.

Hope we can get a round in soon
