15 courses and approx 35-40 rounds of golf of which 6 were competitive. Would have been more if health had been better, fingers crossed it will be next year.

Favourite course of the year was Moortown, always enjoy playing there.

Hi Charlie, is Moortown worth a visit? I'm looking to pllay there or Alwoodey early next year

Cheers

49 rounds, 33 courses, 12 new (total courses played 48 now)

I'm in 2 societies, and secretary of one of them for the 3rd year in 2011, so can choose new courses :) Probably get up to around 55 courses in total after next year, then will settle down to joining a course & being more loyal :)

Favourite course this year was Whickham (Gateshead) although a lot of contenders

PS New year's resolution is to post more on here, partly because you're generally a nice lot, and also .......
may get considered for one of these mysterious equipment days lol

Moortown is great. I've never played Alwoodley but i've heard people rate it higher. If so, you'll love playing either of them.

If it's either Moortown or Alwoodley then I'd play Alwoodley every time. Apart from Ganton it's probably THE best course in Yorkshire. Played it twice this year on their twighlight deal and can't wait to go back next year.
If your staying in the area play both, they're only about half a mile apart.

Cheers for the info - only in Hull so it's possible to try and do both in a day. If they are anything like as good as Ganton it will be a great day out :D

Re Alwoodley,we played 36 holes there a year past October and it is indeed a nice course. It was a Monday and there was not a soul around.

Worth a game although I think it is pricey but sure we paid something like £40 for the day due to a promotional October rate.

I played around 80 rounds - can't be sure as the PC went Phutt and I lost all my SS2 data - but only played courses and then only 1 round on 3 of them.

Next year I am going to get to more new ones. The year just seems to have gone so quick...

Always try and play a new course a month but this year I have been fortunate to get around quite a few on open weeks and comps which have been great value.

Purley oaks

Come on, which one was it?  Purley Downs or The Oaks at Woodmansterne Road?

 :D

Sorry leftie I hate to say the oaks at wallington, I can only explain this as a goat track in shocking condition with members that dont allow 2 balls through in a buggy even though the course marshal requested they let us through on the 2nd.

I can honestly say it would have to be a special occasion for me to even consider playing there again as the last round was almost 6 bloody hours
