STARTED BACK PRESEASON AT THE FOOTY AND THE GAMES FALLING TO BITS.....

STILL MANAGING TO SCORE OK, BUT HROWING IN SOME WEIRD AND WONDERFUL SHOTS!!

SEEM TO BE COMING OVER THE TOP QUITE A BIT, PULLING IT WITH A MEGA FADE.

ANY HELP??

Only if you stop shouting at us!

Are you sure it is definitely an OTT move and not a change to your posture or ball position. At the end of the day, if it is a consistant fade (and not a slice) then why not live with it. Much better for summer conditions as it won't run as much as a draw and so won't go into the longer stuff off the tee and a fade will stop better on the green than a draw

Sorry about the caps troops!

In the wind its a killer though as its always exaggerated big style.

My brother told me to keep a glove under my left arm while swinging, but it got me shanking my wedges!! Its killing me, club champ is 3 saturdays away, I dont have long!!!!

Get a lesson. I had the shanks BIG time (18 holes at Maidenhead) and the guy took one look at my address position and could see it a mile off. It'll be something simple and you'll have enough time to hit some balls and groove it in before the club champs.

You have to take it off first ;)

Why fight it?

A fade is not a bad golf shot and if its a consistent shot I cant see the need for the over reaction from your initial post. If however its more of an uncontrollable slice then that's different.

Looking at your handicap, I'd imagine it's something simple like your timing that's slightly out, maybe just a tad quick from the top, clearing the hips too quickly and everything trying to play catch up!

Im with homer here, get it gone quick and play a few rounds with what ever it is that needs changing before going to the tee in your comp, I had a lesson on a saturday and then played our next society on the sunday... 20points on the card and a bag that was alot lighter in balls.

That sounds like a good old fashioned pull slice rather than a fade. A fade is a great shot to hit.

The pull part means over the top is involved, and the slice is an open face, which can be caused by a variety of things, including ball position, grip, lack of release etc etc.

ethan, that is exactly it! pull slice, we looked at a divot yesterday and it was going about 30 yards left of the flag!!

Graembo. You are a 5 handicapper, so must have good fundamentals. They have probably just crept into a bad place where the corrections have just made them worse. I bet a decent pro could go a long way to fixing that in 1 lesson.

I bet the fix will involve the start of the downswing, which may be too upper body dominant, and ball position, which may need to go back. Possibly an inside takeaway too!

I know this because I have been there - not slicing but OTT and pull hooks, the only difference being hand action!

I'd kill for a consistent controlled fade. If it's a proper fade you've got, one which starts left of the target and moves back a couple of yards the live with it and enjoy it :D
