Fees going up

Still waiting to hear news on our fees this year.

As we are not a members club our fees are not dictated as much by the number of members, etc. Just how greedy the hotel is :)

Compared to other clubs we don't have a great number of members, if we were to get such requests for additional levies to make up funds I would be right out of there.

Clive have you had a look around and decided where you will play next year?
I did hear that Blairgowrie will be clearing their waiting list next year.
Really tempted and am just trying to justify £1800 for the first year to the wife.

Our fee's are staying the same ,they wanted to put them up £20 but it was knocked back at the AGM as they went up £40 last year, there £530 next season so not bad.

£20 quid will hardly break the bank, if all clubs only went up £20 a year that wouldn't be to bad.
Our EGM next week will be interesting.
We are low on members and the way things are going could get worse.

Ours is going up quite a bit I hear. From about 1045 to somewhere around the 1100 mark. That said, we are still the cheapest for miles around, and have one of the nicest courses. Guess I'll be paying it then.

I got really cheesed off at Murrayshall earlier this year and put my name down for Blairgowrie. Within two months I was accepted as an Associate Member which basically is membership of Lansdowne and the Wee Course plus I get six rounds on the Rosemount a year. You pay half the joining fee when you join Lansdowne and the other half when accepted for Rosemount. Compared to M'hall the courses are superb, although I'll miss the views, especially those on the Lynedoch.

Just had a look at my cheque book and for my first year I paid £880 which included the £480 annual sub. So less than you think especially if you take off the £560 that you pay for Murrayshall! (£880 - £560 = £320 which is less tha £1 a day for the first year)

Now this is making me really jealous.
Ok,I'm over 200 miles from Blairgowrie but still!
Lucky enough to play there a few years ago,one of THE best courses I've ever played.A magical place.
Enjoy.

I may be wrong but I think Sand Martins is making all annual subs payable by DD from next year. I think we'll get some sort of hit again at the AGM and given how expensive it already is it may just be an increas too much. I can get in at SM without a problem but not sure about pre-booking for every game compared to rolling up anytime at Ascot. I guess we'll wait and see and go from there. The problem is that apart from pay and plays all the other courses within convenient travelling are all mega expensive anyway (Bearwood, Berkshire, Windlesham, etc)

You LUCKY, LUCKY B*****D :) :)
Especially when everything I`ve heard about your course
seems to be first class.

AH well it looks like H.I.D is about to become another statistic of the severe weather on the Scottish mountains.
Now off to buy her some seriously unsuitable outdoor clothing. Cos it`s the only way I get to move to the East Coast.

OH S**T, I forgot my boy`s a member on here
:( :(

We're lucky in a way golf isn't expensive on the East Coast considering the course plays good all year,i think the way the club is run at times hacked most of the guys of.
We used to have a long waiting list now you can get membership in less than 3 weeks and are doing a good deal for new members.

Just looked at your profile and see you are a member of Murrayshall too. I won't be renewing there next year.

Hi Clive - how come your not going to renew? I've not seen the proposed prices but unless it goes up alot I don't think there's much better for the money for 2 courses.

The new greenkeeper has made alot of improvements to the courses and can only continue to get better.

Scrap my post above Clive, I should have read further down before posting haha!

Although I do concede the courses at Blair are superb I very much like the draw system at Murrayshall and that you don't have to have your cronies around in order to guarantee a game in the medal, etc.

I did hear they are trying to change things at Blair and would be interested to know if this is the case.

Your right about the views from Lynedoch though, very special.

Kinross has tickled my interest, £330 for 2 courses. There's a £660 joining fee but payable over 2 years direct debit so essentially £660 for the first 2 years then, well, I'm sure the prices will change by then.

Strathmore as well has got me thinking...

All depends what they do with the fees at Murrayshall.
