Right then, I'm sitting here doing some work listening to ELO:eek: - out of the blue 12" and thinking how good it sounds, time to get my bum in gear and get hold of some old classics. My current thinking is:
Led Zep - 2,3 and 4
Metallica - ride the lightning and master of puppets
Eagles - a couple from many
Iron Maiden - somewhere in time and seventh son.

What else would you say was indispensible in a collection? I have no set taste. Do you know how old it suddenly makes me feel to realise that master of puppets and seventh son (my first albumn) are golden oldies:mad:

I've just ordered Pete Townsend and Ronnie Lane, Rough Mix, which is an LP I had thirty years ago. Wonder how bad it sounds now though?

Bruce for me and at a push Born To Run but a tough choice between that and Darkness On The Edge of Town....and Tunnel of Love!

Elvis Costello and Bruce Springstien - how could I miss them off the list.
Born to Run is obvious having thought about it!
Probably put some stones and beatles in as well.

Gibbo - still listening, great albumn although the new cartridge and stylus are having to be cleaned each track with the amount of fluff in the grooves - looks like a fat mans belly button.

If i'm allowed a top 5 with different artists then Trust by Elvis Costello and the Attractions
Squeezing out Sparks by Graham Parker and the Rumour
I.m th Man by Joe Jackson
Street Hassle by Lou Reed
Parade by Spandau Ballet

Well liverbirdie - who'd have thought you liked Maiden:eek: Still not inviting you to my course;)
I agree that 7th son is the best albumn but powerslave and piece of mind aren't too bad. The best of the modern ones is brave new world. Would be dance of death but they made a mess in the production of it.

Yep, brave new world is the best recent one. Which one's yours, and how is it doing in the votes, haven't checked yet.........It,s not Morecambe is it.......... I haven't tried the pre-Bruce ones much, as it's hard to improve on perfection.
