Fantasy Footie 25/26

I usually keep try to keep the first 3 weeks worth of transfers, seems pointless doing transfers just for the sake of it.

Yep, that's my plan. I've spent the last couple of weeks putting the team together so making transfers after just one week seems a little reactionary. Will give them at least another week before deciding what to do especially as I've made a reasonable start so need to panic at this point.

1st week terrible, 2nd week much better.

Wanting to see how teams settle before making too many changes.
Opposite for me, my second week was dire. I've now chucked Palmer and Fullkrug in the bin and brought in Johnson and Ekitike. I'm not super happy about having two Spurs midfielders, but the run of fixtures is very good. Didn't really want to bring in Ekitike for the Arsenal game either, but there were no better striker options. Feel like I might have knee-jerked, but it'll all be fine if they get points.

Seems like Robertson is going to have to go, he’s been a mainstay in so many FPL teams for the last few years but seems his time is up.

Big squad assessment over the international break 😂

Exactly the same for me, over 80pts in the first week and about 45 in the second! I'm still holding off on making transfers however Wirtz and Palmer are almost certainly going to find themselves on the transfer list during the international break.

Palmer is down as potentially injured so I jumped the gun and sold him the other day before his price inevitably drops! Too much money tied up in him to wait and hope he comes good. I also have Wirtz and he's also on borrowed time at the moment - should have gone Gakpo for a mil less. It's funny how most of the midfielders who've started well are in that 6.5 to 7.5 bracket.

I decided to risk it with Palmer and hope we'd get news on the injury before making a decision. He's got a good fixture this week and next so didn't want to get rid if he then starts. That said he's done little so far to warrant a place in the team anyway especially at his price point so I should probably just have cut my loses!

Given that I've sold him, I'm sure he'll be raring to play and will score a first half hat-trick.

Not sure Palmer's price will drop even if a lot offload him. You'd then get loads buying him back cheaper and taking a risk.

I'm still undecided on him. On paper he's a must have but he's been so bad in FPL over the last 15 or so games.

Had a half-reasonable week 3, but both the transfers I made were a waste of time really. Earned me a total of 3 points. And I had Diouf on the bench so missed out when he finally came good.

I've activated the wildcard, which was always the plan for this week since we've got deadline day and international break. Liverpool poses me a dilemma - I've drafted Isak in at the moment, assuming the transfer gets done. Wirtz has done nothing, the other options are Ekitike and Gakpo, and I feel like they'll be sharing minutes 50-50 on the left hand side once Isak arrives. If the Isak deal falls through I'll move back to Ekitike.

None of the big money midfielders have performed, so I've now just got a bunch of 6.5s in and spent the extra on bringing an Arsenal defender in for my Sunderland benchwarmer. Defenders overall have clocked more points than midfielders so far, so seems to make sense assigning a bit more of the budget there and playing 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 most weeks.

Another dilemma is Reijnders - cracking debut but nothing since. He's that cheap that it feels worth keeping him and seeing if he comes good again. I'm also jumping on the Joao Pedro bandwagon, since everybody has him and all Chelsea's other strikers have fallen by the wayside now so I feel like you can't not have him at this point.

Better week for me to, 64 points and now have 3 transfers.

Those looking at being shown the door are Wirtz, Palmer and Watkins. My shortlist is Isak, Grealish and TBC to replace them.

Reijnders is safe for the moment as he's so cheap so easy to leave on the bench etc, I have more pressing problems!!

I was tempted by Grealish but I already have Ndiaye who's done well, plus he's on penalties and I can't see Grealish continuing his current rate of assists really. So I'm keeping Ndiaye.

Poor week for me, with Guehi sitting on my bench with 15 points

At the start of the season, Villa's fixture list looked very attractive for Ollie Watkins, but it could be time to swap him out before his price drops too much.

I was debating whether to stick triple captain on Haaland, but now he's yellow-injured so that's out the window. Will still leave the armband on him though, as I'm sure he'll score even if he subs on. Although, I have put Richarlison in since we have Wolves at home, who've been shocking. But I'm not sure he's consistent enough to be captain material.

Since I have a lot of similarly-priced players, I now have a constant battle to get my starters and bench correct. Got it wrong again this week - left Senesi (7) and Enzo (9) on the bench. Highly annoying. At least I was right to bench Gakpo, who only got 1. Oh, and it turns out I should have left the triple on Haaland. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Triple Captained Haaland and he's bailed me out from a terrible week. Watkins finally delivered but annoying his assist has been taken away on FPL.

I had a good start but the last 3 weeks have been shocking. Played my Free Hit for GW7 to try and get me out of the relegation zone.
After stacking my defence with cheap Burnley defenders this will be the week that Villa actually score some goals. And Doku, Salah, Haaland, Gyokeres and Ekitike will all presumably fail to find the net. And West Ham will stick 3 past Raya.
