Fairway Woods

If the hole is particularly tight or a short dogleg then yes...
Just make sure you tee the ball down low to avoid skying it. You should tee it up as if you had a really decent lie on the fairway.

I normally use my 5 wood on the longer par 4's for my 2nd shots and it depends on where my drive has finished and the conditions, state of my game etc on the par 5's. If its downwind in a roll up game I'll probably pull the 3 wood out and go for the gree in 2 but in a medal, it'll be a hybrid or 5 wood into position.

I've been playing around with my 3 wood off a lot of the white tees to see which holes I can get away with using it on and not compromise my 2nd shots. It seems the really tight 16th is ideal as a good shot still gets me to the 200 yard pole and leaves a solid approach in. It might help me keep hitting OB with my driver.

I use my Callaway WarBird 4 Wood off the Tee quite a lot, more than off the fairway to be honest.

It may be old, but its very powerful, and even with a Steel shaft, it can get me 230/240yds from the Tee.

I've actually left the driver 'homeless' at the mo, in favour of my 3 wood. I find that it's more reliable, both in distance and accuracy (in so much that I might actually be able to find my ball!) when compared to the driver. I also on average hit it further than the driver!

I don't have a gap for the 3 wood, in the bag and distance! I hit my 19 rescue fairly well and would rather have an extra wedge.

I'll hit any club off the tee if it gets me to where I want to be. I'll use 3 wood, 5 wood, hybrid and any irons as well as the driver.

Same here, I will use anything that will do the job, but I will more often choose a 3 or 4 hybrid than a 3w if the situation arrises, as I can hit them well enough and generally more accurately.

i have stopped using the driver for now and have been using a 19degree hybrid of the tee. Get decent distance and of course better accuracy.

havent got a 3 wood but not sure how that would be with regards distance and accuracy. if it was anything like the straightness of my hybrid i would defo use it of the tee.

I'm guessing a decent 3 wood will average around 210-230 for MOST golfers on here and will certainly give you that extra distance over a hybrid off the tee and should still be more accurate and easy to hit than a driver. Some companies do high flight versions (TM) and draw versions (Cally, Cleveland etc) but I feel that you shoud try and steer clear where possible and get a 15 or so degree version with a neutral face. It will add a few more yards and won't put so much pressure on such a long second shot.

I use fairway woods off the tee - whenever necessary.

a) I use a 3 wood (frequently) when a Driver is too long.
b) I use a 7 wood (my rescue club) on a par 3 when I want distance with height and little run.

I use whatever is needed to get the job done.

I have taken to using my 3 wood of the tee most of the time as the driver has been misbehaving recently. To be honest I seem to be hitting it as far as the driver so it isn't a bad thing.
Lesson booked with pro for the driver tomorrow so maybe I will sort my bad shots out.

Off the tee.....yes, sure, all the time.

Off a tee.....yes, just not too high.....

3 wood about/just under a cm
5 wood almost nothing....(5mm)

Don't tee them too high.......

Couldn't agree more.

I use my 3 wood MORE than my driver.

I only tee off with a hybrid if there's a specific reason (like a lake at 210 off the tee!)

I dread to think how much longer my second shots would be hitting a rescue instead of 3 wood....(well, it's about 30-40 yards...ouch....)
