Just a quick question for anyone listening....lookin to buy a 3 and 5 wood and dont no whether to go for the MacGregor Mactec NVG2 Draw Woods or The Wilsonstaff Fybrids....iv got the MacGregor NVG2 Draw driver and cant praise it enough as my Fade/Slice has completely disappeared...i just wonder would there woods do the same job......Any info would be greatly appreciated....

Why not go to a well stocked pro shop and ask for his advice and try a few out. Failing that go to a larger retailer (AG etc) and try as many as you can but be aware AG in particular will push you towards Nicklaus, Yonex and Wilson in particular. Be firm and say you want to try others too. Then go back to your club pro and see if he can get it cheaper or price match (always best to support your pro)

Will try that homer.... i use Di7 irons and hit them pretty accurately and straight....no complaints with the irons.... Iv got the driver issue sorted too....just the in between clubs that are the no brainer... :)..... Im a big fan of wilson gear and macgregor....there very underated... i can pick up the wilson woods for 80€ each over here brand new.. but im wondering as the draw bias driver has straightened my drives will a draw biased 3 wood do the same from a fairway lie..

Homers right about AG. I went in looking for a new driver they took me into the net with a Wilson smooth, a Nicklaus, and a special offer TM tour burner. I had to virtually beg to try anything else, eg Cobra, Ping.I left empty handed. Serves them right.

I bought a MT Draw 5 wood recently. It performed no better than my Wilson Staff so it now resides in the shed.

I wouldn't go for either of these choices.
I have a fybrid hybrid but don't like the look of the fairway type one.
I certainly wouldn't go near a draw bias in anything other than driver.
If you struggle to hit the ball straight, go square!!!

If you have the cash....Nike sq dymo square
If not....Wilson Spine fairway
If broke.....MD superstrong square.

I am SOOOO close to binning both my 3 and 5 and going square, but most shots I play with these woods are tee shots or lay-ups, I can live with them. Hitting them straighter wouldn't help my score unless I use them on a par 3s. Even then, square clubs just go staightER......If I cut across the ball with a 5 wood on a long par 3, I'll just miss it left or slice it right.....a square club'll just go to the same places, just with less spin.

t.b.h. If I'm a 3 or 5 wood from the green, I'm mostly just looking to "get it down there" which I do with increasing regularity. I also probably hit more greens from 200 than 180 or 190 say.....the 5-10 yard fade with a fairway is kind of predictable.

HAVING SAID ALL THIS....I might drive to a Nevada Bobs tomorrow and try the MD clubs. When I compared the side-spin off my old Callaway rescue (heavenwood) to my new rescue (fybrid) the two were worlds apart. I was hardly registering "damaging" sidespin with the fybrid (somewhere between 50-300 rpm). I was up close on 1,000 with a bad one off the Callaway.

Science eh? amazing.

Thanks for the inputs and opinions chaps,
i reckon ill be spoilt for choice when i hit the shops haha...Still though iv hit the wilsons before and i liked them i must just get them out on the course and see how they perform....im a big wilson fan so its gonna be hard to sway me.
