Morning, just a wee follow on from my post asking how the courses were etc.
We arrived at 10am on the friday, the hotel was absolutely first class. Everything you would expect and more. (breakfast was the best ever, surprised i managed to make it down to the course)
Headed down to the clubhouse, not really that impressive to be honest. Had to park a good distance away and struggle in with my bag, change of clothes etc. The locker room was really poor. pro shop ok but young guy working there was incredibly stuck up, cant believe they dont hire out electric trollies?
The practice facility was very good, grass area to hit balls off (right up to driver distances) also had a good putting area and short game area with bunkers.
Played the Torrance on the fri, very good lay out....extremely dry, greens were very fast and very true. really enjoyed it. (36 pts) 4 over par for 18 holes
Played the Kittocks on sat, the layout was excellent and some of the holes have spectacular views. very much surrounded by the sea. greens very fast but not as true and a tad bumpy. Cant believe how windy it was!!! (33pts) 6 over for 18 holes.
All in all it was a smashing weekend, the courses were very good but could be better. clubhouse views are what saved it really.
I won the competition and received a free night for 4 adults and a four ball on the torrance the next day...so i will see how it looks around april time.
