Hey bid, I'm an expat Brit on a secondment, I work in the subsea oil and gas industry, hence the reason I ended up in Newfoundland and not Alberta.

It is nice, and certainly in Newfoundland there is no real crime to be worried about, only thing is that the flights to and from newfoundland are ridiculous. If your going to live in Ontario, bc or Montreal then flights are cheaper. Only thing I miss is my family (mum and dad, mother and father and law, my grandparents my brothers all my really good mates, a permenant sense of being settled etc) but if your emigrating I trust you have considered those points already.

Worth thinking about is that uk to Canada is pretty good, but Canada to uk is not so easy due to price of getting back onto the property ladder, hence why I have not sold up my uk house.

Only thing holding us back is family to be honest, my wife grew up with no grandparents as her mothers parents died and her fathers parents live in Pakistan! So doesn't want our two not knowingour parents! My daughters are also blessed with 5 sets of them! We see little of my father or hers but both our mothers are great as her step dad but he maybe moving to the west coast of Scotland when he retires in a couple of years!

Hope we both have good rounds on saturday!

Ok, after all the excitement now the reality.

25km/hr winds and raining pretty heavily. So I went out anyway.....

I had my cross water proofs and a set of fj rain gloves (which were pretty good actually). I only played 9 since the rain was getting steadily heavier so I bailed when ingot to the club house. I was using my iPhone gps with golfshot app.

So in essence I played crap, but I wasn't worried really since I made some poor club selection and the conditions made it a tough also. I had a few ace shots but way to many duff shots. I have more lessons booked with the pro next week. I left driver in the bag all day and only hit 3w or less.
