Played last week at Ripon golf course and for about four or five holes I just wish I had not been there. I was the most miserable moaning sod you would see on a golf course. After about the fifth hole I had a bit of a word with myself along the lines of " sort your head out you tashy faced prat". I just was not enjoying the course and it got in my head, bigstyle. Don't get me wrong I opened up with par but after that " saddled was my first name last name was misery".
Anyway somehow I sorted my head out and finished with 29 points which joint won the day.
Sad thing was, a fellow PP went through exactly the same on the back nine, he was proper suffering. Never been like that before after what was a brilliant weeks golfing. Still don't know what it was, whether it was a course to much or what, But.
Ever been in that situation ?

Probably like you said on your trip review, a course too far, also it might not have been up as nice a course as the others you played.

You played a lot of golf that week. Bound to hit a wall at some point. Fatigue plus mentally you know the trip is nearly over. Add to that you mentioned you weren't enamoured with course. I've felt that way on the last few holes of a 3 day trip so no surprise you felt it on a 5 day one near the end. You just needed a caddy to pick you up mentally.

Played the year before last, and going through a rocky patch even for me. Was hitting it so poorly by the 14th, I went in. Very rare for me to do that (think I can count on one hand over thirty years). Hated myself for doing it.

Oh MY GOD, that's horrendous!!
I really hope you pull through.

I'll be thinking of you.
