Euro football thread

I was in Spain two years ago when they won the World Cup. The atmosphere was amazing and we watched the game sitting outside a street pub with thousands of Spaniards all painted up in their colours. This year will also be in Spain for the final matches so would be nice to have a repeat, assuming England are not going to win it.:mmm:

Thought Russia were very impressive last night, would like to see them up against a strong team and that will not happen in the group stage for them. Still cannot see beyond Spain / Germany / Holland as eventual winners.

Although I've got the golg bug bad football has always been a passion for me. I'm an amateur football commentator aswell so this month I'm like a pig in muck.

Really think France will turn it on this year. Blanc has done a fantastic job of curtailing some of the ego's and put together a really good looking side.

I'm away over to watch today's games in Edinburgh with a few mates and some expensive beer.

The England team visited an orphanage in Poland today.

"It's heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope" said Igor, aged 6.

So much for the luck of the Irish (Shay Given's header).

I thought the ref gave Ireland nothing, how 3 officials could not spot the Penalty on Keane, God only knows.

That Majstorovic or whatever his name was, must have spent 1/2 the match on the floor, sickening to watch, Drogba must have been envious.

I wish I would have put a tenner on Jelavic for top scorer.

Gutted for the ROI, they deserved a bit more than they got.

Weirdly nervous for later. I always say I'm not going to be bothered about what England do, but then I get caught up in it all and will be a wreck later I'm sure. To make matters worse, I will be watching on a delay "as live" as I'm at work til half 5 so will need to stay off the internet to avoid scores.

I truely, and honestly have given up on England football.

Different managers, same old disapointment.

When will the FA learn that 11 individuals do not make a team

On a brighter note. I still fancy the dutch to win the tournament.

I'm just about the most optimistic person you'll meet, so although I know in my heart of hearts that it will be the same old terrible stuff, there's a small part of me which thinks a miracle *might* happen. Pathetic, I know.
