anyone has this done to their car ?

Been thinking of getting the civic done to see if I can get a bit more grunt out of it.

I've had it done, it took my little Cee'd from 89bhp to 137bhp, an increase of 54%!
It also increased torque from 173lb/ft to 212lb/ft.
Oh, and fuel consumption has improved by around 10%.
Remapping generally works better on diesel vehicles.
What car do you have and what is it's current BHP?

Civic petrol, 1.8 vtec.

For that increase. I’d not bother.
Take it that your engine is NA? NA remaps are never worth it alone.
Mine went from 286bhp to 360bhp & 430 ft/lb to 520ft/lbs.
also had the gearbox remapped at the same time.

Had my Yeti 1.2 turbo petrol done the other week. Noticeable improvement in acceleration & torque. Not as big as would be with a diesel but worthwhile nevertheless. Had to change insurers as the company insuring my previous car would not cover it.

As an aside, the digital display would only show speed in km/h in tiny numbers & I couldn't change it. I consulted a Skoda forum & was advised to get someone with access to the car's software to change the car's location to Australia. I got this done along with the remap &, hey presto, I now have a big digital mph display in front of me.

Got this back from a local tuner, at least he was honest. Could be expensive as Ive just seen a 1.5 turbo civic for sale

Thanks, no one appears to be listing any gains for this vehicle, is it normally aspirated, if so it could simply be there is little power to be had?

I'm considering it for my 320d, should see 30 to 40 horsepower increase I think and hopefully even better economy (although it'll do 60mpg now).

Not sure on costs though (including potential insurance premium increase).

What year and exactly what model is it?

I have an Audi S4 Avant and got the Revo Stage 1+ map plus gearbox map. Also had induction kit and supercharger pulley upgrade. Increase power from 340 to 450 odd bhp.

The biggest difference was how much more responsive the gearbox is, the turbo lag completely disappeared and it’s a different animal now.

All mods declared to the insurance company mainly because it cost around £2.5k so if I did have an accident the cost of replacement etc would be taken into account.

Remapping a non-turbo engine is pointless. Minimal gain for a chunk of cash. You will be lucky to see 20HP nominal gain.
Remaps work best for Turbos. For a 1.8 naturally aspirated 4 cylinder I would just leave it personally.

I had my Mini Cooper SD remapped from 180 to 220bhp and my insurance actually came down by £10!
