I mostly wet shave, but I have an expensive tri-head philips which was getting old, so I replaced it with a cheap one, which I actually find better. Closer cut and less irritation.

I think it was about £15 (seriously).

Braun Series 1.

A decent, single blade safety razor is the best way to not get razor burn. One of these bad boys are the best: http://www.timothyedwards.co.uk/Category/Shaving/Safety-Razors/c-1-72-75-89/

Plus the razor blades work out at about 12p each! much more cost effective than the ridiculous prices that Gilette charge!

I use a Philishave Wet/Dry Nivea moisturising thing, but mostly because I'm a lazy git.

I much prefer to wet shave, get a much better shave out of it.

To help reduce razor burn/neck rash, I find a good after shave moisturiser does wonders. I'm using Bulldog branded stuff at the minute. It's magical stuff.

be a man - grow a set

otherwise use shaving oil, lube up well

Cold water in your upturned helmet, unscented soap, and a standard issue BIC disposable head without the handle, no mirror.

Just loved the old field exercises.

Ha ha sounds familiar robo.

Thanks for all the advice, seems the philips ones are quite popular.
I understand that they won't be as close as a wet shave, I just don't want a big red rash on my neck.

Cheers

Never had an electric shaver that doesnt irritate me.

I get a hot-towell shave at the turkish-barbers every monday, which I absolutely love, I then shave every other day with KOS products and a gillette fusion razor.

Always have a barbers shave if I am going out in the evening though, love it.

Wife bought me a cheapo one as I was always moaning about how I hated shaving.

In the end I found electric the way to go, a quick buzz and I am ready to go :)

Tried a few electric over the years, never a real "top of the range" model but not the cheapest either. Always the same, the time taken to get the closeness I want is actually longer than a quick scrape while having a wash. Either way my neck gets a bit irritated. Wet shaving gives the option of shaving before bed which for me will last for work the next day and electric in the morning is certainly no better by late afternoon.

Moisturisers are for girls btw and it appears we have a few on here :D :D
