I've used this for about 10 year, it misses the odd grey hair, but I keep a bic razor nearby.
It strips down, cleans and washes no problem.
I gave up wet shaving years ago because I hate the sight of my own blood, sometimes looking like the shower scene from Psycho.

Decided to go with the Philips 3 head 7000 series. 3 days into it and it seems to shave well. However, my neck is quite sore after each shave. I’ve been dry shaving with it. I’m going to try the Gillette gel tomorrow.

Shaking it out every day but looking at putting it in the cleaner every third day. Thoughts

Dry shaving with it will give a burn. The difference by wet shaving with gel is night and day. You won't go back after tomorrow.

You can also just stand under the shower and shave with it, no gel, but then you can't see what you are doing which can be a bit random 😄.

After a lifetime of wet shaving, I treated myself to a good quality Braun (series 9) last year. I'd tried cheap electrics before and didn't like them at all, but the Braun is so much better, and is all I use nowadays.

Got exactly the same one and also invested in the cleaning dock. Was luck enough to buy it around Father’s Day with 30% off.

Having always used cheaper alternatives in electric I found I either had to shave pre and post shower to give the skin a rest or use the longer beard trimmer first then across to the normal shaving blades.

The s9 will go through 4-5 dats growth no problem and is even used by my local barbers as a pre wet shave cut.

The only negative is that the side burn trimmer isnt of the sand quality and the rest of the unit.

I've also got the cleaning dock, but haven't used it yet. I'm making do with a really good rinse/flush under the tap after use.
Does the cleaning dock really make a difference???

100% worth or Smiffy. I normally give the blades a tap out clean after every use then a dock wash every week. The solution in the washer gets everything out of the head and also sterilises the blades.
