I've started to get pains in both elbows almost immediately after playing.
It goes away after a few hours so I don't think it's proper tennis/ golfer's elbow but it's really uncomfortable in the meantime.
I've read that switching to graphite iron shafts can help alleviate this..a bit more shock absorption than steel...
Anyone had the same, done the same..?

I have graphite shafts in my irons as I have an arthritic wrist & scoliosis in my spine, the graphite shafts certainly help reduce the aches and pains post golf.

You are very welcome to borrow a couple of irons when we play tomorrow.

Could it he golfers elbow?

Had a few weeks off when I had that and cleared it up
As I said it's only after the game and for 3 or 4 hours...played this morning and by 10 it was murder...now completely gone.
I'd expect the "elbows" to be constant..
Had GE on both sides a few years ago and it was constant..

Not saying it will work the same as it did for mate but spend some time daily pulling your hand back and forward to stretch the tendons both ways in your forearm. If that makes sense?

Acquired a Cally Apex Pro19 7 iron with the 6.0 Catalyst shaft in it..
P,aged a few shots yesterday and it feels really quite good..
Going out solo tomorrow at dawn and will be mainly hitting 7 irons.

Went to my friendly neighbourhood fitter today to try some graphite shafts in different heads....
Firstly....1 hour hitting lots of balls, only 7 with a steel shaft...and no pain....
I think we may be on to a winner here...
Tried stiff, regular, heavy and light in a few different brands and heads.
My Apex Pro, Cobra King Tour MiM and Mizuno 223 were the heads...the mizuno felt a bit dead and certainly didn't have the pop of the other 2.
The Apex remains clicky but the King Tour..Mmmm.....me likey..
The shaft in the Apex - Catalyst 80 stiff was the best, didn't get on with the Recoil 95..tried a Catalyst 55 Regular and got on surprisingly well with it.
All the shafts were controllable and felt good
Better distances, better launch and spin windows and simply felt easier to handle than the KBS Tours..
The times they are a-changing.....
Oh, and I saw the new Ping i230 irons.......very nice.
Couldn't hit them as he was still unpacking them but they look good in the hand.. but they ain't gonna be cheap.

My partner has quite a problem with her right elbow after playing. She uses a TENS machine to ease the pain, and it works. I will get you more details if you need them.
