After havin a crappy June where my H/C just touched 14.6 for 15 i have hit a bit of a purple patch and am now down to 12 in two short weeks, couple of gross scores in the mid 70's works wonders, culminating in a semi slot in the pairs mathplay where I was -1 for the last 12 holes.

Anyhoo this pales into insignificance with the pride I have for my son who after playin fairly solid at Woodhall in the spring was duly booked in for a short game lesson by me as a birthday present as his short game was holding him back.

He was given a grip and swing change, only minor but enough to mess with his head to the point of two weeks ago he was goin to give the game up as he couldn't put two shots together.

Fast forward to last Sunday when he romped a "board" comp by 4 shots. And more importantly for him, a cut.
Absolutely chuffed to bits for him and now feel justified in the lesson.
Even the Pro was pleased and commented that the pins can now be removed from the doll.

Moral of this story is when things don't seem to be going for you, stick with it, success is only 1 game away.

Thanks for the comments, i'll pass them on.
He's actually talkin and watching golf again. I reckon with a bit more work, he could knock ten shots off his h/c before the season is over.
