Dunlop NZ9 Equipment on sale at Sports Direct

Anyone actually tried all this equipment that's getting stick?

If only we had the backing of a magazine who could test them. I suppose if they come out as equals to big brands, big brands wouldn't be very happy.

The problem is one of perception.
Back in the day Dunlop was a major force, much like Slazenger and others.
For whatever reason, those brands diminished in stature and for the last 10 years have been the domain of Sports Direct/JJB - ie "not proper golf" - rightly or wrongly.
Dunlop have got to work very, very hard to rid themselves of this tag - in a similar way to Skoda in the car industry. It took Skoda 10-15 years to get any credability and some still doubt it now.
This is the battle Dunlop have.

Honestly, I think you could have every Golf Mag and Pro come out and say that Dunlop are making the best equipment going and you'll still get a very small take-up due to the perception I described earlier.

Dunlop use to be #1 in the market. Their Maxfli Australian blades were awesome. Would be good to see them back but the market place is so saturated with different makes and models it is hard to know where their market share or niche will be other than at the budget end

As I'm still on a beginner set of irons I'd certainly be tempted if it turned out the nz9 irons and hybrid were equal or only slightly different to the bigger brands stuff. £65 for irons or £250+. I'm sure I've got Scotland in my blood, tight as [insert saying]
