Dundee /Edinburgh great Cities but!

All I remember about Dundee are the 7000 or so roundabouts on the A90 ring road and a taxi driver not knowing how to get the the Tesco on said ring road. The clown took me to a different Tesco and didn't believe me that there was even one on the ring road.

The A90 isn't a ring road and therefore requires junctions/roundabouts, and from memory there are five roundabouts, or circles as they're called in Dundee, on a six mile stretch.

Just seemed like loads at the time and traffic was pretty bad. Not spent any time in the town but you can't argue with its history and what it contributed to kids reading in the UK

If you are a bit of a roundabout connoisseur then East Kilbride is the place to visit :)

Former employer hailed from Dundee... Don't remember him having too much good to say about his home town... Though when he knew my better half and I were visiting the area... He insisted we visit his family... The welcome couldn't have been more warmer or friendlier... To say we were proper fed and 'watered' would be an understatement...

I tend to judge towns based on the people who live there and not the architecture or amount of junkies in the city centre.

The only thing that lets Dundee down is it's reputation (for teen pregnancy and outrageous amounts of junkies). It's actually a nice place, with a nice town centre.

Edinburgh is too touristy for me, I will have to do a bit more exploring when I next visit.

Finally some sense! Hear, hear!

How do I describe Dundee without getting banned from this forum? What a dump and they all speak funny "twa pas fur ma doag." Edinburger is a cool town though.

You sir and 5and1 are total knobs one stays in a 3 world country full of Pedo's and ladyboys the other from Edinburgh with its sleazy massage parlours and junkies. What a joke.

Dundee is a decent place to live i've stayed here all my days ,like every other town it has its drug problem and rough bits. The waterfront is under massive regeneration with the demolishing of the old council building just now followed by the Hilton Hotel and the swimming baths next to go. They have just completed a new Swimming and Lesuire facility which opens next week, Dundee has one of the biggest teaching hospitals in Europe and has a huge amount of medical research centers that are trying to cure various illnesses ,Cancer being the main one.

Dundee is prime location for golf with St Andrews and Carnoustie only 15 minutes away not many of you can say that about your towns or cities now can you.
