Well i played Dunbar today for the first time, i have played most of the courses in this area, just not this one. What a fantastic course, i thought it would have been like the Glen, how wrong was i. This is a true links course, with proper ruff, that doesn't look heavy, until you try and hit your ball, and it only goes about 30 yards. Started off really bad with 2, 7's, pared the 3rd, and then went on to par run for the next few holes. I found the back 9 a lot easier to score on, which is strange, because its a lot harder. I am just glad there was no wind, and the rain stayed off. I was in only one bunker all day, and that was enough. Although i don't think its better than North Berwick West, i think its pretty close. And it only took 4 hour for a four ball, result.

Cracking course, was there last week, not to play unfortunately though, but the rough looked like it was up!

Always thought that although it is right by the sea,the land is just the slightest step away from true links land like you get at Gullane,North Berwick West or Muirfield.

Glad you enjoyed it and well done on the back 9 which is normally very tough!

Lately the weather in Scotland has been more like a rain forest than normal.
Perfect conditions for links golf and you can really rip a course apart with no wind and a bit of mizzle.

I remember playing Dunbar in a Nor' Easterly in Febuary. I have never been so cold.
With the wind in that direction it is coming straight from Siberia.

When Dunbar was a 'resort' they claimed the Scottish sunshine record for many years. They never boasted about the temperature though.
