Dublin advice

Hi all,

Me and a few forummers are off to the Atlantic coastal challenge next week and we're staying in Dublin on the Saturday night, but looking for options.

We're staying at the DCU halls of residence in Glasnevin, but will only get there around 8pm ish, so wondering whether to just stay local if a good run of bars around there or a short taxi away instead of heading into the centre.

A Lark lane(Liverpool), or an Osborne Road (Newcastle) type run of pubs outside the centre would be ideal, or even in between Portmarnock and Glasnevin.

I think most have us have done that before so looking for something a bit more chilled out (and not the reported £10 a pint) but still a bit lively.
