I got a DJI Neo2 just after Christmas, basically to have a bit of fun over the summer with the pooch on the beach.
Has anyone got one? Use regularly? Any tips?

Cheers Bri, did a bit research before buying it and the Regs have changed and do again in 2028, so I have both my Operator and Pilot licences, then I’ve registered with the CAA.Download the CAA app that shows where you can fly. It’s best to check every time as there will be occasions when an area you usually in become restricted air space for a short time/specific reason.
If you haven’t got one, not that you NEED one, get an operator ID and dymo it to the body of the drone. If you lose it and it’s handed in to the Police they can find you through the CAA.
There are regulations for drones, where to fly etc, but for drones below 250g those regs are very much relaxed.
I can’t remember if the NEO 2 has geo-fencing and self-altitude limiting.
I had it “follow me” when playing our Par 4 9th between Christmas & New Year, it was interestingWill you use it at the golf course at all? I fancy having one filming the tee shots from 150 yards away hovering above the fairway. (Cue all the "well it won't catch any of your shots hovering there"). Or an overhead view of long putts moving sideways as they track the hole.

Can you set it so it is behind you when you take your shot so you can see the ball flight?
Course is 114yrs Old, there are a few holes that could possibly be described as ridge and furrow,is that ridge and furrow you are playing on?
on another note a word of caution i got a drone for the dog to chase a couple of years ago. he loved it went mental, until one day the battery ran out, destroyed before i could get it off him![]()
