Born to be Wild - Steppenwolf
...
I would have thought this would be the natural 1st on any such list!

And if you can set a speed limiter....Highway Star or Smoke on the Water from Deep Purple's Machine Head!

And for some 'patriotism' while the miles roll by....Locomotive Breath from Tull!

Molly Hatchet - Boogie no more
Humble Pie - Natural born bugie
The Boss - Born to Run
Foghat- Slow Ride
Deep Purple - Stormbringer
Steve Gibbons Band - Tulane
Steve Miller Band - Take the money and run
Kiss - Detroit Rock City
ZZ Top - La Grange
Van Halen- Ain't talkin' 'bout love

Faces - Stay with me
Black Country Communion - One last Soul
Jeff Healey - See the Light
Foo Fighters -Learn to Fly
Motorhead- The chase is better than the catch

I have a power ballads playlist on my phone, half of which seem like they could be appropriate here.

Rainbow - Since You've Been Gone
Aerosmith - Cryin
Alice Cooper - Poison
Don Henley - Boys of Summer
John Farnham - You're The Voice
John Par - St Elmo's Fire

People have said a lot of the others.

Or taking it more literally..

The Cars - Drive
Incubus - Drive
Deftones - Be Quiet and Drive
Gary Numan - Cars
Prince - Little Red Corvette
Eagles - Life in the Fast Lane
Tracy Chapman - Fast Car

Assuming you're going to have it on loud & bellow along ...

Green Day - American Idiot
The Clash - Rudi Can't Fail
Dr Feelgood - Back in the Night
Fall Out Boy - This Ain't a Scene. It's an Arms Race.
Rocstrong - Go Head.
Seasick Steve - My Donny
Ian Dury & Blockheads - Hit me with Your Rhythm Stick & Reasons to be Cheerful (part3)
The Skids - Into the Valley

Many thanks for all the suggestions. Quite a few already on my list, quite a few songs by artists that I know but not familiar with those tracks and loads of stuff I've never heard of so I'll check out all your suggestions on Amazon and get downloading.

Much appreciated guys and girls! (y)
