driving range prices

Not long moved and stuggling to find a range for regular visits, the local courses mostly have them and balls tend to be free if you're playing that day but are too far to drive to if you're just practicing without a game (one especially nice place even builds the range balls into little pyramids for you :-)

These are the Closest driving ranges to me

Close House -- £6 for 80 Balls, Automatic Pop-up Tees, pour balls into a hole in the ground and balls pop up, 4 diff tee heights, great mats and balls, Everything Brand New, State of The Art, and Floodlit too

Parklands Gosforth -- £5.50 for 100 balls, New mats just purchased, NO TEES, u must buy your OWN at £1 each, or MAY - I say MAY - be able to borrow one, Balls vary greatly, from -- Brand New Srixons, to yellow Dura RFT, to 'Dimpleless' flightless balls

Wallsend -- £4 for 100 Balls, Balls vary greatly, mats OK, some have rubber Tees, some have NONE

£5 for 100 balls and £3 for 50 where i am, balls are getting really rubbish, though the occasional proper ball gets mixed in and flies over the back fence, its not very long

My local - family run, but main guy is a pro and teaches too. £4.50 for 100 (£2.50 for 30 & £3.50 for 50), there's a discount if you're a member too. Range used to be a bit nasty, but since the new owners bought it, now have true strike mats and a large grass area too which is nice and flat. The balls are a bit manky, mostly look like lake balls, but good enough for practice.

If your in Nuneaton check it out http://thelukemellinggolfacademy.co.uk/ - they are really friendly there and have a Bar - always a plus :D

The American golf golf one next to the trafford centre seems quite dear in Comparision, £2.50 for 25, 4.50 for 50 and either £7 or £8 for 100. The range itself is uphill and pretty big but the mats are wearing and only one size of tee, high.

My local is attached to the new American Golf in Livingston. The mats are all new and in good condition, as are the balls. The targets could do with a bit of work and the fences are still down from the storms over new year and I think it's £5.50 for 100 baws. There's also a trackman thingy and a good professional that does lessons.

Overall, I think it's a good place to practice my faults ;)

Not a range as such. But at our club, the club house is set back about 200yrds from the road. So this leaves a large grassed area in front of the club house.

It is all cut to fairway length, with 3 tee boxes and 3 greens on it. So this is our practise area. Not big enough for the driver, but great for the short game. Use your own balls. Only rule they have is no hitting towards the road. Other than that do as you like, with in reason(safety etc). Oh and it free.

think my ususal one runs at about £6 for 100 balls, but if you ooad up a card with £75 you get an extra 25% balls. often do deals like put £75 on a card get £75 credit on top free or put on £100 get 35% extra balls.

i am a bit of a range monkey so i'm always loading up the card to take benefit of deals and end up with £200 + on it in total from time to time

I get quite lucky as being a junior at my club gets me a discount ;) get a 5 token card for £2.50 and you tend to get about 30 balls per token, so about 150 balls for that about :) mats are alright as well as the balls, get to hit of grass if you like to in the summer as well, but that isnt to flat so most people tend to stick to the mats!

Myself and Oddsocks pay £3.50 for 50 or £6 for hundred. They do a card and I am sure you get free balls if having a course of lessons. Nothing new there reading the above. What annoys me though is they frquently close the range to pick up balls (either the machine is broken or the one they use dosnt have a cage). They have our Email addresses and are very keen to tell us if they have one callaway driver which if brought between 12 & 3 AM you will get a fiver off. Why not use the Email list for something else as well (like course and range restricitons). Its happened to me a few times this year. Rant over!

OH, and AG locally is £4.75 for 60 balls that are so distance limited they go backwards!
