Hi all, sorry if this has already been covered. Just got back from my 3rd round on a proper 18 hole course and shot a fantastic 122 on a par 70. I am going to invest in lessons after buying some Nike sumo irons (and finally not embarrassed by my dunlops from soccer sport)
I hit probably 2-300 balls at local driving range a week and want to improve drastically, but is it worth wasting this money BEFORE lessons ? I know my swing and grip need working on but hoping I May work out what I'm doing wrong myself with practice. Main question is.... What do you guys do at the driving range ? Is it worth driving, iron then a chip shot or just dedicating say 50 balls driver/50 irons and mixing it about ? Do you aim for targets or just try hitting long and straight etc etc ??

cheers

Take your course's scorecard then play a round of golf. Take driver, then the required iron to get the distance to the green.

Repeat through the 18 holes. Don't be tempted to hit 2 drivers in a row if you duff one.
