Played a long overdue round of golf on Sunday at Six Hills and happy to report that I scored an equal-best of 87 :)

Before now I was forced to tee off with long irons, simply because I could not hit my driver straight. But I realised that would be no good in the long haul, so 4 weeks worth of practice at the range followed! I'm delighted to say it paid off.

I can now hit a solid drive, pretty straight, and the extra distance has helped shave at least 10+ shots off my final score.

I played with my two mates - both of whom prefer to tee off with an iron because they can't hit woods. I told them to go sort it out but I know they won't, but at least that's good for me because I can continue to gain 75+ yards on them from the tee :D

Practice makes perfect! ;)

Nice going!

I'm similar in that a narrow tree-lined fairway fills me with dread and I tend to prefer a long iron as I'm a bit more accurate. But after some good practise at the range with my driver yesterday, I'd say I'm just as accurate with it now. Of course, the proof will be when I next play "properly".
