I have been using my old R9 driver, thinking of upgrading, are there any real improvements in the newer design drivers before i spend on a new driver, any recommendations.

I went from an old Titleist driver to an M4. Distance wasn't massively increased, but accuracy was hugely better. Shaft Technology and heads that compensate for off centre hits help a lot.

TBH anything will be better than an R9 worste driver TM ever did:whistle:

you could get a TM M2 mrk1 for very little, i'v tried all the new drivers this year and none touched my M2, wih the right shaft combination

Go to a fitter / demo days etc and try as many as you can.
R9 against modern drivers is like a mini and a Porsche.
Both functional but different animals.
Both get you where your going but the Porsche is much more fun.

I went from R9 (used with great success for many years) to M1 (briefly) and settled on M4. I have gained about 15 yards but may have lost just a very small amount on dispersion. I have not got a 'stock' fitted shaft having liked the Fujikra one that was in the M1 having tried about 4 different shafts in actual use on a course.

Important thing is I do not regret the change.
