Well, over the last couple days I have been posting about drivers, shafts, kick points etc.
Today I went to the course and hit the range for half hour, then played 16 holes for bit practice.
Been having real issue with the driver, as luck would have it, bumped into the pro I have had a couple lessons with at the course. He watched me warm up then hit hit 4/5 balls with driver, told me where I was going wrong. I was closing the clubface on the backswing, then trying to use my hands to rectify the issue on the downswing causing my problems. After some great advice, it would appear that I know how to fix my problem, I realise it wont be a miracle fix, and will have to work on it, but I have a great start point.
So instead of wasting money on a new shaft, I got 10 mins free advice and a solution to the problem.
So, do I, we, waste money needlessly on new shafts, clubs when they are not going right, instead of trying to put them right by learning how to hit them properly, or finding out why we stopped hitting them well in the first place?
As I said, I need to work at this, hit driver 7 times, 1 bad one which hooked into the pond at the par 5 9th, (but managed to hit 3 wood through the green, almost holed the chip, but still made par )the other 6 were all in play, 4fairways, 2 light rough.
I now can see light at the end of the tunnel, and it cost nothing!
