Mate at 226 carry just get your favorite off the shelf, tee it up and belt it. No offence intended. Just *** it.

Gee, thanks for that, and your handicap is????

Was I meant to lie and tell you that my carry was 305 running out to 360? Its not a willy waving contest.

226, Running out to 250, add on 10 yards for range balls and temperature, I'd say I'm slightly above average and REALISTIC!

All clubs were off the shelf models anyway.

Is the correct answer. ;)

13, after 18 years lay off. Back playing golf for 1 year previous to that when custom fitting wasn't available I played off 9. Like I said no offence intended.

There was no offence taken, I posted my true accurate results according to trackman.

I will buy what's best off the shelf but until I try all that I want to try I won't rush in. There are enough models and shaft combinations "on the shelf" so I'm sure with patience I will get what's best.

That's what I meant, Craw mate, there is too much @ollocks spoken about custom fitting these days. It's not a panacea for an average swing. I have an average swing, when I played off single figures I had an average swing.I chipped and putted a little bit better that's all. Custom fitting would make no diffeerence to me.18 years ago I had a ping persimmon driver with a graphite shaft it cost me £200. These days I have a Ping g10 same price! and I don't hit it any further for all the technology. I average 240 carry, period. Anymore and I'm fibbing. 18 years ago I was a big hitter these days I'm averege at best.

I was fitted for my irons the other day and I will never buy another club without being fitted. I have to disagree with you on this one. We will not be the 1st or last to not agree on this though.

630, not fast track.

I want a new bat, not a new shaft, biggest mistake of my golfing life was changing from the Rapture V2 to the G15.

I'm selling a rapture v2 if you're interested. 9* diamana stiff shaft £85

It's a great driver but just not the right club for me.

I wish you all the luck in the world in your golf.

the 910 is in my pros for £260 mate, ur looking in the wrong places

He may not want the stock shaft.

Totally agree with the price. I actually paid less for my 910 but that was at the old VAT rate. It desn't come with a stock shaft either, all are ordered to spec and take around two days for delivery.

I'd say that you should try the Titleist. It should only be costing 260-270 Although that may still be above your price bracket.

I've hit a 10.5 regular only and it feels a great club even though i'd be looking for a lower ball flight than that one provided.

Cheers guys,

A t'internet search shows I can pick up a 910 D3 for £250, that is the low spinning launch club, couple that with the Aldila RIP 60 as standard which is a high kick point shaft I could be onto something here.

Since Titleist have a place a Kings Acre I'll make some enquiries.

Hi Crawford,

not sure if your up for previous models, but when i come off my Ping G5 i tried the G10 & G15 (had just come in), Burner 09 & the cobra that was the present model

The G10 & g15 in 9.5 with the stock stiff had a mega high ball flight, even my G5 with Adilla Stiff & 8.5* was too high in flight, so i quickly opted out of these

Next up was the cobra, again in 9.5*/Stiff was a great club, the dispersion rates were a tad wild but if tamed could have been an awesome club, if say it was slightly longer than the one i chose, but the biggest thing that got me was the nasty sound cobra's make...

Final contender was the 09 burner 9.5/stock stiff shaft... within 5 balls it was a done deal, the 9.5 stiff combo on this club gave a lower ball flight than both the g10 & the g16, and it was more consistant than the cobra.

AG had the 09 burners on sale @ £129, you may be able to look around and find an even better deal on them, but definately worth a bang at that sort of money, your get that back atleast for the ping.
