Decided after hitting a few friends regular shafted woods that my stiff ones are not for me (Cleveland 588). This is mainly due to low ball flight and less carry. This means I'm now considering either of the following:

- driver and 3 wood
- driver and 4 wood (17.5 deg); or
- mini driver and 4 wood

If I go 3 wood would need a hybrid/utility iron to sit between the 3 wood and my 4 iron (22 deg).

I'm 5ft 8in and wondering whether a shorter shaft and slightly more loft may increase my accuracy.

Advice on the above would be helpful along with any offers seen online for the clubs. Second hand driver may also be considered.

I love my aeroburner mini driver, can hit it between 200 and 230 pretty consistently.
Shame the rest of my game is terrible 😂

Here,s what i have
R15
Aeroburner mini 14' (tight fairways) i know i can hit a soft draw, or low tee shot into wind
5wood or 3 hybrid for approch shots

Go for a mini driver you will jot be disappointed

its transformed my game, nuch more consistent now with my driver, because of the mini

I carry driver and mini driver. I'm very comfortable hitting the mini off the deck though so it's excellent for our par 5's off the whites. Then I go to a 17 degree hybrid, then 4 iron. Find the gaps work very nicely.

Cheers for the input. Been up the range this evening and couldn't hit the driver at all whilst I hit my 3 wood really well?!

Can't hit my 3 wood for toffee at the moment. Driver has a serious case of the lefts as well. Can't wait for my lesson in the morning!!

I have just got an Aeroburner Mini Driver and it has transformed my driving.
In the past I was a bit of a streaky driver, whereas I'm much more consistent and much straighter with this.

I also find I haven't lost any distance as I used to 'waft' at my driver a bit, but I really drive through the ball properly with this having the smaller head.

It's horses for courses, but I definitely prefer the Mini to my previous Drivers.

I've got a Taylor Made SLDR mini driver which I've had a couple of years - very easy to hit and keeps the ball in play, At the start of this year I got a SLDR 460 12 degree driver - cranked it up to 13 and a half degrees and it's just as accurate and goes lots further - only driver I've ever felt 100% comfortable with.

I played yesterday and I can honestly say it was longer than my driver, my pp used to be 50 yards in front of me it's only 20 now, I used to hit the driver so high but this has a lovely flight and roll when landing.

Also have the Aeroburner Mini driver and am happy with it, at my standard the length of a driver shaft is just too long for me to get anywhere near constant contact in the middle the way I'm currently playing. And for me a shot with a mini that is more likely to be near the sweet spot will on average go further and a shot with a proper driver that will not always hit the middle. Yes I know one answer is to get a shorter shaft on a driver, but to be honest I can't be arsed.

I seem to remember having read that TM will probably not do mini drivers any more as they are concentrating on the core clubs and not niche areas. So if you are after one I'd possible stock up sooner rather than later, I'm sure you could get an Aeroburner one for less than 100 notes now.
