No, NO and NO :)

a 13 degree driver could be an excellent choice for you.

HOWEVER nobody can say for sure until you try a few against each other preferably on a launch monitor.

I have a 13 degree driver (and a 12 and a 10 :D) and t.b.h. the launch on them is almost identical. The 10 has a high launch shaft and the 13 a low launch.

Don't be put off by the number....it's all about how you hit it.

so buying blind off ebay isn't recommended then?

Not necessarily. What is it? Do you know (can you post?) the shaft details.

Are you a beast and hit it miles, or suspect you are a normal player?

I bought my 13 degree "blind" because I know that even if 13 is a degree too much, it'll be easy to hit.

Just a thought (which some will probably want to comment on - feel free)
The DVS is not a high launch shaft so the worst that can happen with a 13/HT driver is you're going to get a bit more height than the "ideal"....

I have to say from personal experience, I'd rather be getting a bit too much height and find the club easy to hit but lose a bit of distance. With my swing speed - very much in the average club golfer category, I feel the right combination of shaft and head produces a good launch for me, almost regardless of exact "number" on the club. If I get this off an 11 or 12, hitting a 13 is not really going to make much difference.

f.w.i.w. my 10 launches at about 15-16 degrees i.i.r.c.
the other two are nearer 17. All go about the same distance.
the 10 is marginally the longest (with roll) but the others are more than acceptable for my standard. I find my 13 degree driver very easy to use.

No, not at all.

I've used a 13' Callaway 454 for last 3 seasons. Bottom line for me is that when you hit a good drive it makes little difference but less sidespin means straighter more of the time when you don't which can mean the difference between light rough and deep rough etc.

Difference in distance is negligible, clubhead speed is generated by the length of the shaft, loft is all about the shape you want.

Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but having bought 3 from Ebay in the past 6 months i have learned from my mistakes that you need the right flex shaft. finally found one now but I got a stiff shaft 9 degree and couldnt hit it at all  now just got a Cobra with a slow speed shaft and the difference is amazing. 15 yards at least extra and I'm not a big hitter(225)

I off 26 and have recently bought a Diablo Draw with a 11 deg loft. Best buy ever. now hitting more fairways and getting good distance and scoreing well enought for my handicap to be reviewed. Cant wait for the new season to start.
So buy it and try it.
