Hi All,

I just won a R9 Superdeep TP on eBay and am going to collect it at the weekend. I know you all went for the R11 but I tried the superdeep for a weekend and loved it.

Anyway, I was wondering if you have any advice on the checks to run when buying a used club. Driver in particular. Other than cosmetic stuff I mean.

Thanks in advance for your help.

i once over heard a pro and rep speaking to a old guy who bought a r9 super tri. they said it was fake as the face was magnetic. originals are titaniun and fake's usualy use cheap crap. i could have heard wrong i was busy trying to find a magnet to test mine :D

Not necessarily, the OP talked about 'collecting' so presumably will pay cash on collection and therefore will have the chance to inspect.

In any event the ebay appeal system nearly always sides with the Buyer and would return your cash pretty quickly if you reported that the club was a fake (irrespective of whether or not the Seller knew it was) the beauty of Ebay and PayPal.

I'm fairly sure this isn't how ebay is supposed to work.
If someone did this to me, "inspecting" is not an option. If the description is incorrect, that's different, otherwise..??

Guys you are scaring me now!!

The seller sent me the serial number and tomorrow I'm gonna check it with TM. Then of course one can always forge a serial number....

If it comes with the adjustment tool and leaflet, before you hand over the money ask if the weights can be removed for you to see,if you know anybody that knows a bit about clubs, take them along with you,and i know its a silly question, did you ask if the club was genuine....

I wouldn't buy any club without hitting it first and certainly not off e-bay

Do you mean the actual club I'm going to buy Homer? I've tried the same model both on the course and at the driving range.
