Hi all,
I'm playing this course tomorrow in a club friendly and having not played it before was wandering if anyone has and if so any tips, is it a nice course to play etc.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Looks like everyone is too wrapped up in the Ryder Cup to help you out here Barb. Bit out of my area so I can't help. Play well and have a good day though.

When we first moved down from the North East it was to Abingdon, a very nice little town on the banks of the Thames. Don't know the course, but a very nice part of the country none the less.

If you've not looked for the website yet, here's the link

Looks nice, might be tempted to drop in next time I'm driving down south. (Or further south than I already am...lol)

Well, I have had a lovely day today, the weather was fantastic and company was second to none and the golf wasn't bad either. Considering I have never played Drayton GC before it was a lovely course to play, the fairways were tight and there is lots of water around the course and the bunkers are well placed, it is certainly a course where you have to think about your shots and you have to be fairly accurate aswell, the course was in great condition though the greens are still recovering from having some work done to them.
We also had the best carvery that I have had in a long time to finish what was already a lovely day.

Oh and we lost our match but took it to the 17th (afew trick shots in there from me ;)). Overall Drayton were very deserving winners.

Summary, A lovely friendly club with a challenging course. i would recommend it to anyone.
