In the for-sale section someone has done a bit of a naughty in my eyes.

On the ping V2 irons post there is a comment where the guy says basically "£20 p&p, I posted mine for £10" and on my advert for my 585h he posts £79 new.

Why even bother posting, if you arent interested in the item leave it at that rather than leave stupid comments or try to sabotage the sales people are trying to make.

Im not desperate for whatever the club sells for but its still bloody annoying when I think I am offering something at a good price to have uneccessary comments against my post.

Sorry if this seems an unjustified rant but that has pi$$ed me off to be honest.
 
Jon, I was just making a point, if you think selling a third hand club with £20 knocked off is a fair price then fine, you made a statement saying the cheapest was £75 second hand from Golfbidder in the process of making a sale, I mainly added to the fact that you can buy for new for £79.

In regards to the P+P I thought it was a lot, maybe the seller doesn't know the price but quoted roughly, I was just lending advice on what I say, he may have hired Mr T to deliver the irons for all I know hence the cost, but I just mentioned I sent 9 irons that where heavier than the V2 for less than a tenner.

Yeah but my point is why be as pathetic as to make stupid comments or try to sabotage the chances of people selling things???

It would be like you trying to sell your house and me standing outside saying "theres one the same round the corner £5000 cheaper" or something like that, yes a dramatic example but along the same lines.

I actually took the club in exchange for a full service on a motor at the garage so im hardly profiteering from it.

Dont want to fall out, I take on board your oppinion and hope you can empathise with mine and leave it there.

P.S I paid just over a tenner to send a putter to Liverpool from Russell Square
 
Htl I was leaving it to people, if forummers want to rip other members off so be it, but I was just commenting that most kit on there ends up being sold on EBay for between 30 & 40% cheaper that advertised on here, not naming names or in relation to the above issue but its a point, why offer something at a daft price to people you chat on a forum with then flog the kit to a stranger on the cheap?
 
If I want something, I look, if i feel it is too expensive I do one of two things.
1, haggle
2, walk away.
If you don't want to pay the asking price then don't. No one is forcing anyone else to cough up. We're all adults on here and can make our own minds up.

I have a pal that sends live animals and P & P varies from carrier to carrier dependant on what he sends.

If I wanted to sell something and wanted a bottom line price, I would not necessarily put it on for that price.
You can come down if there isn't much interest. It's hard to go up if there's a lot.

I once sold a classic car, it was sold at 6am on the first day it was advertised, yes 6am!!. I could have sold it 50 times over, gets you thinking, how much should/could I have sold it for?

if its 80 quid its 80 [****] quid if someone wnats to buy it for that then let them buy if they dont then they wont...other then that its non of your business unless your selling it or your buying it!! simple as

Without wishing to esculate this conversation I have to say I for one am grateful of Chubbs input on the post in question. He's merely offering his advice and view to the forum, which after all is what the forum is all about.

I'm not saying medway was looking to rip anyone off and i'm also sure chubb wasn't trying to portray this, he was just being informative.
 
in my opinion ...if someone wants to buy a set of clubs from american golf for 600pound and you know theyre on centregolf for 450 then fair enough... but when someone is selling there personal kit.. something as a one off then let it be!

I understand that, what I don't like is being brought to stand for my actions by the clique. As a member of this forum I thought I was doing the right thing by letting people know the available price (though higher than the offered), if people want to be ignorant then so be it, I was just being informative on the matter.

It always happens this, Jon throws his toy out the pram... quite sad really.

what you on about.. ?? 1. youve interfered with his sale! regardless of whos interest it is in!

2. ALWAYS??? in my eyes jon doesnt often set a foot wrong and to say throw his toys out his pram??? he is a grown up through and through and conducts himself as a gentleman on and off the website!

I have to say the forum is and always has been abit "clicky" to say the least.... i'm sure had chubbs response been to anyone else one here, or any new forumer, he would not be treated the way he is being now.

Just lets leave it there, you two obviously do not see eye to eye, so avoid eachother.
 
Why was this not dealt with by PM? Bottom line is its an internet forum. People can air their views and post opinions. Not everyone is going to agree, be big enough to accept others opinions and views and let it be.
 
I posted what I did for the benefit of all, I didnt mean to put any buyer off just pointed the facts, I would have thought it a benefit that a "hardly used" club 20 squid cheaper would be a positive thing.

No wonder so many noobs don't come back, this is a forum and yes it is like a virtal 19th but when did it ever become a members only club? I just cant be arsed with the crap in here with the little gang, it put many many people off and no doubt slow down as is the case the last few months.

Chubb, you should be lucky that you look so much like Carl Wheathers, hes a handsome man with many good films behind him, happpy gilmore being among his finest peices. If you can have half as much success as Carl then your life will be a happy one.

I think the slow down is just a case of the end of the season.

Christ take a chill pill. Freedom of speach is for everyone, I dont care one iota who is right and who is wrong in this case. I see where you are comming from and I see the other point of view as well, no need to get everyones knickers in a twist over feck all.
 
I can see the merits of both arguments but think everything that needed to be said has been and that the time has come to call an end to this flame war before it degenerates into something much more personal and unwanted on here
