Just been up the club and they have posted the final standings for the 2010 Order of Merit.
I managed to scrape it by 3 points
Going into the weekend I was just 5 points clear and my form was on a definite downswing. With the second place guy needing a top 10 finish to get past me and the only other two contenders left needing the win.
I started really well but just couldn't keep it going. Blobbing 4 holes and ending up with only 29 points and no OOM points for the comp.
Walking off the 18th knowing how good the 2nd place guy is thinking I'd blown it.
But thankfully he only managed a 14th place for only 2 points. I'd have rather finished strongly but that's the way it goes sometimes I guess.
I'm well chuffed.
It's been a really good year. I've got my Hcp down from 20 to 13 (My target was to get it to 16), won a couple of comps and and good few 2nd and 3rds.
And now I get my name on the board at the club.
I've already started the training for next season. Target is single figures.
