My eldest wants to play golf again and beat his old man (not difficult really), so having posted in the past about him starting and not starting, he is on a sports coaching course, part of which is golf related and he has now decided he wants to play golf properly.

I have withdrew my nike irons from ebay for him to use and have a bag but I am after some clubs cheap as chips.

He is 6ft 2 (git) but anything in reg or stiff would suit.

maybe a forgiving driver, a hybrid and a putter.

Regret selling all my old clubs now,

cheers GM in advance

According to the guys who use them, they ARE decent. Why spend more when you dont even know if he will continue playing?

My mate Greg, who is going to Woodhall Spa, plays with Dunlop irons. He bought them a few at a time for something silly like £7.99 each until he had made up his full set.
He plays off 11 and is one of the best strikers of an iron I know.
If he can do it, your boy can. Surely G1BBO, you've worked out that you can't buy a game?????

I have the following old clubs:

Founders club
Rescue
Wedges 52 and 56 deg

Cobra Baffler 21 hybrid

Vokeys 52 deg and 58 deg

Lynx fairways 3 and 7 woods

Taylormade v steel 5 wood

Old ram 5 wood..

If there is anything that you like the sound of pm me.

Biglsice - they may well do the trick, let me know how much you were thinking for the pair

Pull - the baffler is a definite maybe as he hit my old one well.

we are going for a round on Friday, I have decided not to sell my nike VR irons and let him have them and I have an old wilson insert putter

can't wait and would be great if he scores on a few holes :)

Glad I saw this thread, been looking at getting a second set of sticks to take down to my Mum's in the South of France and leave there, if these Dunlops are half decent then I'll piece together a set over the next few months before I next go down there.

My mate has also bought a full set of clubs and a bag, from Sports Direct, all for under £100! They look really nice too, no different to any other clubs on the market. He really likes them. He doesnt have a handicap but he did get 2 birdies at the Belfy with them!

Guaranteed if you had a blindfold on you wouldnt be able to tell the difference between them and a more expensive club.
