I asked for help a long time ago re setting up a website for my club and you, as usual, came up with the goods and it has been up and running for many moths now - so thanks...

... However, a few years ago the club paid to have a site made and this was duly done in skeletal fashion for us, the club, to infill with our requirements but, as happens, the guy who set up the site fell out with our club rep and refused to provide the password, so we were stuck.

This dormant site is a co.uk one with the new site being .com. The new site is on page nine of google whilst the empty site is on page one and I want to be on page ONE!!

The co.uk domain name is finished in June and my question is .... How easy is it to obtain this co.uk site. The guy that set it up did not and does not, want it I understand. He set it up using the clubs cash and after falling out has had nothing to do with it.

Help!

Help!

I didn't know moths played golf. :)

Sorry.

As said, go to 123reg and buy it on the day! Depending on what it's value is the price will change.

If you want to get to page 1 on google you'll need to add some meta data and keywords to improve your SEO. If you've used anything like Wordpress you can get a plug in to do it for you! Should get you up there in no time!

The date the registration expires you may be able to buy it, but it might just renew automatically to the person to whom it's registered. I have 650 domains and they all renew automatically as I don't want to lose any.

Best bet is someone swallows their pride and gets in touch with the person who owns it. Failing that it's not too hard to develop a .com site properly and get it to page 1 of Google above the .co.uk especially if it's for such a targetted search criteria, chasing a No1 spot for something with 2,480,000,000 results is a bit more competitive though ;)

Yes, I accept that but it could be this cold weather affecting their circulation and they need a wee boost to their blood flow.

They do not get this blood flow if they only use their wings and the wind draught creates icing on their wee bits.

Thanks everyone for making the situation, re the website, clearer

I cannot tell you how many things are wrong with that from a biological point of view....
