I'm sure quite a few of us have changed our wedges over the years, sometimes because of changing to 3 wedges, sometimes due to wear and tear, or maybe because your irons changed too. So when you changed like for like in lofts did you notice distance differences, or do you always hit a specific loft the same distance.

I'm going through a change from my MD's and when trying out the same lofts I'm getting different distances. At the moment it's causing me to stop the change and just keep what I have because until I'm happy with my distances I don't want to change and cause me more confusion when preparing a shot.

The alternative is to just buy exact replacements :)

Just changed from a TM Z-TP 52* to a Mizuno MP-R12 52* and getting 5 yards more form the Mizzy (as I found out yesterday when I popped it off the back of a green from 100yds...)
Only diff is the Z-TP is 6* bounce and the MP-R is 7*.
Mizzy feels softer and, when I got the distance right, stopped much quicker on the green.

Not seen any difference in shaft length but certainly my MD wedges are low bounce and the others I've tried have been more normal bounce.

Swapped my 52* vokey for a 52* mpt10 mizzy, the mizzy flys higher even though the lofts were the same, and the mizzy peaks at 90 yards max when the vokey could be pushed a touch more to 100/105

I went from Vokey to Nike and whether they go the same distances or not, I still use those same numbers and do ok so they can't be that far different.

Yes there will be differences due to several factors. Shaft length, different shaft specs, different clubhead weighting causing higher or lower launch angle, groove patterns giving different spin rates.

Quite a few different factors there to take into consideration.

I bought the MD's and sold them within a week as I was getting to much distance for the given loft, (I was hitting the 54 degree within a couple of yards of my PW which lead me to believe that the loft is possibly stronger than stated). I also found that I could skin a soft ball with them with only half a dozen shots.

I bought TM XFT's and haven't looked back as the feel is a vast improvement over the MD's and the gaps are consistent.

I had 54 and 60 vokey in chrome, I bought brand new replacements with exact same bouces but with black nickel finish for a change, just couldn't get on with the new 54, just kept ballooning up in the air, very strange as both were exact same spec.

Changes every day depending on the temperature and how well I'm swinging on the day.

Had Vokey's but changed to Ping Tour S's. Found the Ping's a bit too 'lively' for the delicate chips around the green, so went back to the Vokey's. For full shots there wasn't a noticeable difference.
