Do you make your own luck?

In some ways it can seem that way. For example a really aggressive golfer could get 5 hole outs from fortunate bounces in a year, but could have 300 bounce into hazards, but a more conservative player could get 0 hole outs be seem less lucky by comparison.

Absolutely! You can’t get into a place to be lucky often if you are not getting into near enough the right places first.

Holes and courses are usually designed to punish the bad shots and help the good ones, take a look at the way a hole plays and you will see how this works on a fair few of them, usually the best designed ones anyway.

Our 16th has OOB tight left all down the driving area and the number of people I see tug it left into the trees and you're thinking "reload" only for the ball to somehow pin ball around and pop out. Never seems spit them back for me. I think its as simple as we remember the bad luck more than the good fortune we receive
