Just set it beside where you are hitting from and start it. Hit 15 balls. discount the 5 shortest and five longest. Stand in the approx middle of the 5 remaining and that's your yardage. I need to redo all mine because I hit an 8i about 140 carry yesterday and normally this would be my 7i. With the course being that little bit softer it's a good time to get measurements closer to carrys rather than total with roll etc.
