Discontinue match play.

In the absence of a Committee Member, I'd have thought they could discontinue play if the course became unplayable due to adverse weather conditions. They would then recommence play from the point they discontinued play. If the ball was in play it should have been marked if necessary, or, if play discontinued between holes, the next tee would be the point where the game recommenced.

I've followed that process before without any trouble.

We've had evening Championship matchplay matches flooded off the course in the past and players returned to their ball to recommence the next morning. Granted, that was with Committee input.
 
DCB's thought is correct..
See Rule 6-8a whch says,

Players discontinuing match play by agreement are not subject to disqualification, unless by so doing the competition is delayed.
