I was at the range today and was hitting the ball not too bad, i then got bored and started hitting shots with the baseball grip and was probably hitting it even better. Question is should i stick with it for tomorrows medal or go back to old grip and forget about the new grip?

pros and cons really.
the only reason Pros say not to use the baseball grip is that it gives too much control to one hand (usually the right)
As long as you keep an eye out for closing to club face too early then by all means use the grip.
It does usually feel way more comfortable than either the interlocking or overlapping grip.
(I use the baseball for my driver/3 wood, interlocking for my irons)

That's what I love about this forum. Someone off 24 giving grip advice to a 7 handicapper. :)
If I were you, I'd use the grip that got you down to 7 for the medal.
Then, give the baseball grip a go for a few bounce games and see how it goes.

Should a 7handicapper really be asking a question that he should already know the answer to?Everyone knows that you dont try something new on the golf course in a medal that you havnt really got used to,yes it went well but only in one session on the range.

Bob, leave THJahar alone... he may be an absolute legend with the irons but as much use as a one legged man at an arse kicking contest with his putter ;)

I was really just asking what you would do in this scenario, as ive never been so confused what to do after i was nailing them on the range with the baseball grip. Its my first medal this year so dont really want to balls it up so probably will use my old grip, just curious thats all

Why change at all. You have got to 7 with a grip and set up that works and you don't see too many top players with a baseball grip. The reason is probably that somewhere along the line its not as good as the overlapping or interlocking.

My take is that you were relaxed after a good range session and swinging well and loose anyway and to a certain degree the grip wasn't going to make a difference. Personally I'd forget about it and stick with what you have. Why make it harder, especially in a competition
