need a new digital camera for next year. Me and HID are going to the Maldives for our honeymoon. My camera i have now is like 3.2megapixel had it for over 10years haha. My blooming phone is better pictures. Dont really know much about them or what to go for to be fair willing to spend up to a couple hundred if its a good one. Interested in an underwater one as we play to do alot of snorkling and possibly some scuba as they do courses there and we are there for 2 weeks so fancy giving it a crack.

anyone know anything about them at all?

used to be quite into it but lost track a wee bit as Golf is my main passion. The Olympus XZ1 is a cracking camera with a fast lens for those low light shots, great reviews also. You cant go wrong with a panasonic TZ10 or TZ20 (newer one) either.
Don't know anything about underwater cameras apart from they look great, however, go to www.avforums.com and the digital photography section and I guarantee you'll get lots of sound advice and options, www.talkphotography.co.uk is also a good forum with lots of info.
let us know what you go for

Amazon have the Pentax Optio WG-1 Digital Camera - Black (14MP, 10m Water Proof, 1.5m Shock Proof, 5 x Wide Angle Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD for £170.

I use a Panasonic TZ20 nearly every day. I bought it to replace my old TZ5 which finally gave up the ghost after many years of service. Picture quality is excellent and better than my Nikon DSLR. It is easy to use and the fully auto (iA) gives great results which are capable of very large enlargements and publishing quality. It has a HD video mode and a GPS mode which I don't use. The camera won Which Best Buy Digital Camera in July this year and there are some great deals on it at the moment. It isn't waterproof though, but I think I read somewhere that you could buy a waterproof housing for it.

Guy at work went out and bought an expensive underwater camera when he went to the Maldives and none of the pictures came out

Save yourself some cash and buy a disposible

Not hugely into photography and can't help with underwater stuff. But I bought a new camera earlier in the year, got an Olympus E-PL1s which I am more than happy with. Does good on the auto shots and have been turning in some nice pics whilst trying out manual modes. Just googled and apparently it has an underwater housing http://www.cathychurch.com/Reviews.html#OlyEPL1
